Central Europe Tour

First of all this isn't strictly speaking just a tour of Central Europe...for those who are pedantic about such things. Charting this one out made me realise just how vast the continent really is. Between each major, and even minor, destination there are delights I shall likely remain forever ignorant of. With my motorbike probably only having around 20,000miles of trouble free travelling left in it I have elected to not try and go absolutely everywhere. Who know...if this venture works out I might just have to fill in the gaps by some other means of transportation.

CENTRAL EUROPE ROUTE (miles):

Base Camp U.K. to ...

... Calais to Bruges (via Dunkirk) = 70

... to Antwerp (via Brussels) = 95

... Amsterdam (via Rotterdam) = 105

... Hamburg = 290

... to Berlin = 180

... to Prague (via Dresden) = 220

... to Vienna = 205

... to Budapest = 150

... to Zagreb = 215

... to Trieste (via Ljubljana) = 145

... to Milan (via Verona) = 255

... to Geneva = 200

... to Montpellier = 280

... to Base Camp Europe = 190

TOTAL = 2600miles

Of the places listed above my only visitations have been to Brussels and Milan - both of which were reasonably brief. The names are famously familiar, and yet, do I truly know anything of them? No. I do intend to delve into the murky world of on-line research prior to each trip to try and sift out various gems to visit...be them monuments, gardens, festivals or museums etc.
